Dr William Pettersson-Yeo, presented research at the BAP 2025 summer meeting. His study developed and validated a tool using data from 10 NHS Trusts to predict treatment-resistant schizophrenia earlier. This aimed to enable more personalized and timely care for patients. The research demonstrated the value of real-world data in driving collaboration and impactful healthcare solutions.

Akrivia Health was at the 2025 RCPsych Congress in Wales, connecting with psychiatrists and organisations working to move mental health forward. Conversations throughout the event reinforced how important better data is in tackling the field’s toughest challenges — exactly where Akrivia fits in. Representing Akrivia were David Newton, Benjamin Fell, Georgina Ireland, Laura Akonor and Tanisha Kamat.

Akrivia Health joined important conversations on the future of health data at the National Patient Data Discussion (NPaDD). The event focused on how patient data can drive research and better care when used responsibly. Sophie Turner and George Lush attended on behalf of Akrivia.
24th June 2025
Akrivia Health contributed to HealTAC 2025 with a talk and a poster on practical strategies for validating clinical NLP models when resources are tight. Gloria Roque and Jack Richmond represented Akrivia, sharing insights on reducing annotation burden and making NER validation more reproducible. The event brought together healthcare and tech experts to explore the future of text analytics in clinical settings.
16th – 18th June 2025
Akrivia Health hosted a two-day hands-on workshop with SMARTbiomed (a collaboration between the University of Oxford and Denmark) to help researchers get to grips with our dataset. The sessions walked participants through how to use longitudinal psychiatric EHR data effectively — and showed just how much research potential the Akrivia dataset holds. The workshop was facilitated by Panagiota Kontari, Benjamin Fell, Sophie Turner, Gloria Roque, Maxime Taquet, Dr William Pettersson-Yeo, Dalila Monica Moisescu, Clara Lewis, and Marcus Sefranek, in collaboration with Naomi Wray from the Pioneer Centre for SMARTbiomed.

Akrivia Health took part in the 2025 Research and Development Forum, connecting with researchers and partners from across the UK around improving how mental health research is delivered. Representing Akrivia were David Price, Theana Hickman, Lauren H., and Tanisha Kamat, who kept conversations going at the stand throughout the event.
18th – 20th May
Akrivia Health joined the British Neuroscience Association Festival 2025, engaging with students, researchers, and clinicians. Tanisha and Laura staffed the booth, while Ana Todorovic and Dalila Monica Moisescu presented posters on mental health data and dementia risk. A symposium featured Benjamin Fell, Shaun Rowark, and Dr. William Pettersson-Yeo discussing how NLP-enriched health records can improve schizophrenia treatment guidelines. Akrivia also sponsored the Career Zone, supporting neuroscience research and mental health progress.
27th – 30th April
Akrivia Health supported the Grounded Research 2025 conference in Rotherham, where researchers and healthcare leaders gathered to share ideas on community research, infrastructure, and innovation. David Newton spoke about building a research-ready data service for mental health and dementia. Ellie, David, Samantha, Laura, and Tanisha represented Akrivia, helping keep the energy high and conversations flowing.

At SIRS 2025 in Chicago, Akrivia Health was represented by David Newton and Ceyda Uysal. The event focused on advancing understanding and treatment of schizophrenia. Key discussions highlighted how real-world evidence can accelerate innovation in mental health care. The event provided valuable networking with researchers and industry leaders committed to improving schizophrenia outcomes.
At AD/PD 2025 in Vienna, Akrivia Health joined global conversations on neurodegenerative disease research. Panagiota Kontari presented a well-received poster on depression treatments and dementia risk using real-world mental health data. Georgina Ireland also represented Akrivia, engaging with the scientific community. The event highlighted collaboration across clinical science, neuroscience, and industry.

At CNTW 2025, Akrivia Health supported mental health and dementia research by sharing a case study on predicting treatment-resistant schizophrenia using their platform. The event highlighted important work on acute mental health challenges and lived experience stories. The Akrivia team attending included Benjamin Fell, Sophie Turner, Adam Tustian, George Lush, Tanisha Kamat, and Laura Akonor. The event reinforced the commitment to finding cures through data-driven insights.
2nd April 2025
At ISPOR Europe 2024, Panagiota Kontari presented a poster on psychiatric multimorbidity and dementia risk using 23 years of secondary mental healthcare data, which was nominated as a Top 5% finalist in the awards. Benjamin Fell and Monica Moisescu also shared insights on the potential of research-ready datasets. The event showcased how large-scale data can drive progress in mental health research.
